How does it work?

Our journey begins on the sun-drenched shores of Southwest Florida, with our initial challenges and activities deeply rooted in the coastal communities we love. While True Islander is infused with beachside DNA, the underlying game is completely location-agnostic. You can rally your crew and compete on the global leaderboard no matter where your travels take you. And this is just the beginning—we are already developing new editions tailored for different regions across the country and exciting global destinations.

  • True Islander operates on a real-time, golf-style scoring engine where the lowest individual score wins. Players reduce their score by securing GPS-verified venue check-ins, winning on-demand trivia or logging spontaneous wildlife sightings, and completing tiered interactive tasks from the Challenge Vault (-1 to -15 points). Conversely, players accumulate penalty points by playing time (+1 point per minute) or failing to respond to random team-wide safety checks. At the end of the dynamic route, the player with the lowest personal score claims victory, while the team's aggregate average is submitted to the global Top 10 leaderboard.
